more details:
The glaze, whose interior resembles a pool of still water, is crafted from raw Yingqing ore sourced from Hutian Kiln.
High-concentration glaze slip fuses freely under kiln heat at 1300°C, forming countless tiny air bubbles that lend the glaze a vivid, living vitality, as if creatures dwell within the pool. Once firing finishes, the ware cools slowly, leaving a crystal-clear, lucid glaze surface.
With this craft, the old idiom “boiling water to make ice” no longer stands for the impossible.
Perhaps we devote elaborate craftsmanship and precious materials to craft the “Cheng”,
striving to reach the pinnacle of artisanal skill.
Our ultimate pursuit is to pass down that ethereal, subtle, timeless and elegant charm—
an effortless natural beauty that bears no trace of man’s hand.
