Profile

Yan Fei is the Deputy Secretary-General of the Ceramic Art Committee of China Folk Literature and Art Association, Deputy Secretary-General of the Ceramic Decoration Committee of China Building Ceramics and Sanitaryware Association, and Member of the Chinese Society for Ancient Ceramics.

Honors & Achievements

Among inheritors of the five famous imperial kilns of the Song Dynasty, Yan Fei boasts the highest academic attainment, the most prominent research platform and the richest research experience. He has promoted and innovated Chinese ceramic culture both at home and abroad. His monograph Chinese Jun Porcelain is hailed as the most comprehensive work on Jun porcelain, one of the five renowned kiln wares of ancient China. His artworks have won the Mountain Flower Award, the highest artistic honor presented by the China Folk Literature and Art Association.

Trilogy of the Universe · Zhengshang Porcelain, this triptych of round display plates is an iconic representative work of patented 3D piled glaze Zhengshang Porcelain.

This underglaze blue & copper red relief plate unites traditional hand-painted camellia underglaze art with modern rugged 3D embossed texture; its irregular shape merges oriental flower-and-bird charm with contemporary sculptural ceramic aesthetics.

This spherical high-white porcelain vase is hand-painted with gradient ink-wash plum blossoms in underglaze blue accented by red floral cores, integrating classic underglaze literati painting and modern minimalist decorative aesthetics.
