Introduction

This national ceremonial porcelain wide-mouth round belly bowl features a lustrous uniform Chinese red glaze. One side of the vessel is adorned with embossed gilded floral ornamentation, alongside hand-painted yellow lotus blossoms and shoals of swimming fish. The bowl base is fully covered with an embossed gilded layer, transitioning into a deep kiln-transformed glaze at the bottom, lending the piece an opulent, full-bodied elegance.
Crafted in Jingdezhen, the bowl is formed with high-temperature porcelain clay fired to create a red glaze base. It integrates three-dimensional embossed gilding, overglaze new-color hand-painted lotus and fish motifs, and kiln-transformed textures on the base, undergoing compound firing in multiple kiln sessions across numerous sequential processes.

The lotus flower symbolizes harmony and purity; swimming fish embody the auspicious wish of surplus wealth year after year. Gilded ornamentation stands for prosperity and thriving fortune, while the crimson base hue radiates festive, auspicious vitality. As a national ceremonial porcelain piece, it bears well-wishes for abundant livelihoods, harmonious relations, and peace and wellness for the whole family.
